This isn’t how it was supposed to end for Dwight Howard in Orlando.

This “Superman” was supposed to be in Central Florida for 15 years, place a few banners in the rafters and leave this game as one of the greatest big men in NBA history. Yet, with the ongoing shenanigans with Howard to his ownership, his coach and the media, the tailspin of drama has become more tragic than Carmelo’s exit from Denver to New York and LeBron’s exit from Cleveland to Miami.

 Kaleb Canales is about my height, maybe a tiny bit taller.

He doesn’t intimidate nor overwhelm. Put him in a room full of Latinos, and he could be your cousin or a buddy. Nothing about Canales in person stands out.

But one thing does set him apart among U.S. Latinos and everyone else, for that matter. Canales is an NBA head coach. THE head coach of my favorite team, the Portland Trail Blazers.
